Invisalign in West Vancouver
Invisalign treatments are a type of clear aligner therapy used to straighten crooked teeth. Invisalign is an alternative treatment to traditional metal braces which follows a more intensive treatment procedure and also requires strict dietary restrictions. Invisalign is popular among teenagers and even adults, as the aligner trays are almost invisible, so wearers feel less self-conscious than if they were wearing metal braces.
Am I A Candidate for Invisalign?
If you have minor misalignment problems such as under-bite, overbite, crossbite, and crooked teeth, you may be a good candidate for Invisalign. Your dentist will assess the alignment of your teeth and take scans of your mouth using an intraoral scanner. The scanner will create a 3D image of your teeth and show you the predicted outcome after Invisalign therapy.
How Does Aligner Therapy Work?
Your dental scans will be sent to the lab to create a custom set of aligner trays. Each set will be shaped a little differently to gently bring your teeth into alignment. As your teeth move into place, you will change your tray every one to two weeks to continue moving the teeth into the desired position. While treatment may take anywhere from six months to over a year, results are visible within several weeks.
